On the evening of June 8th, Chint Group announced it has officially entered into a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud. The partnership will focus on three core areas: large AI models, cloud and computing center infrastructure, and collaborative business expansion overseas. This collaboration aims to establish a mutually empowering, in-depth cooperative framework to jointly advance the integrated development of smart energy and artificial intelligence.
Alibaba Cloud (Alibaba), a cloud computing and artificial intelligence technology company founded in Hangzhou in 2009, provides a full-stack cloud and AI service portfolio. This includes elastic computing, storage, databases, big data, security, and large AI models like its proprietary Qwen, all built on its self-developed Apsara operating system.
Chint Group stated it will leverage its full-industry-chain advantages in power supply and distribution. The company will provide Alibaba Cloud with next-generation computing center infrastructure and high-to-low voltage power distribution systems for its domestic and international data centers. Utilizing its global manufacturing bases and localized service networks spanning China, Asia-Pacific, North America, and Europe, Chint Group will ensure efficient project delivery and service support for these facilities.
In the realm of green energy, drawing on its extensive expertise in photovoltaics and energy storage, Chint Group will supply clean, efficient, and reliable green power for Alibaba Cloud's global computing operations. The partnership will also explore various support mechanisms, such as green electricity trading under computing-power coordination, to continuously advance the carbon neutrality process for data centers.
Alibaba Cloud will provide Chint Group with stable, secure, and efficient cloud computing infrastructure and the capabilities of its Qwen large model. This support will underpin the development of industry-specific large models and intelligent agents for Chint Group's smart electrical, green energy, and smart home sectors, accelerating AI application in scenarios like electrical product R&D, supply chain optimization, and photovoltaic power station operation and maintenance.
Furthermore, leveraging its cloud infrastructure spanning 31 regions and 101 availability zones worldwide, along with its experience in overseas compliance, Alibaba Cloud will serve as the infrastructure provider for Chint Group's global expansion. It will offer global cloud services and compliance assurance for Chint Group's international smart energy and intelligent electrical projects.
Chint Group is the parent company of two A-share listed entities: Zhejiang Chint Electrics Co.,Ltd. and Chint Power Systems Co., Ltd.
