Chery Auto Posts 2025 Revenue of RMB 300.29 Billion, Accelerates ESG Push With Net-Zero Targets and Record NEV Sales

Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report, detailing financial performance and sustainability milestones for the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025.

Financial highlights • Revenue reached RMB 300.29 billion, while net profit came in at RMB 19.51 billion. • Global vehicle sales hit 2.63 million units, including 1.29 million exports. • New-energy passenger-vehicle sales climbed to 0.83 million units, accounting for 31.41 % of total volume. • Annual R&D investment increased to RMB 14.72 billion, supporting more than 6,200 patent applications and pushing cumulative authorised patents to 23,074.

Climate and environmental performance • Scope 1 emissions totalled 233,321 tCO₂e, and market-based Scope 2 emissions stood at 466,411 tCO₂e. • Green electricity supplied 52.77 % of power at domestic vehicle plants; on-site photovoltaic capacity reached 281.92 MW. • Chery targets net-zero operations by 2037 and net-zero across the full value chain by 2047, with an interim goal of cutting average manufacturing emissions per vehicle 60 % by 2030 (down 9.42 % from the 2023 base year in 2025).

Circular-economy initiatives • Overall waste-reuse rate hit 93.80 %; hazardous-waste compliance disposal remained at 100 %. • A 100 % recycled-aluminium die-casting project won the Altair Enlighten Award global runner-up in the “Sustainable Product” category. • The company operates 618 domestic power-battery recycling outlets; all on-sale models now carry full life-cycle carbon-footprint accounting.

Governance and compliance • Independent directors represent 40 % of the board; female directors account for 13 %. • No corruption-related lawsuits or cybersecurity violations were reported during the year. • All 1,518 tier-1 suppliers have signed the Supplier Code of Conduct, and 61 % of key suppliers completed ESG audits.

Workforce development and safety • Global headcount totalled 70,103, with R&D staff making up 54 % of non-production employees. • Average training time in China reached 55.90 hours per employee; training spend totalled RMB 32.27 million. • Lost-time injury frequency was 0.12 per million working hours, and no occupational diseases were reported.

Community investment • Social-welfare spending amounted to RMB 43.26 million, alongside RMB 2.68 million dedicated to rural-revitalisation projects. • A renewed three-year partnership with UNICEF includes an additional USD 6 million commitment to global education programmes, aiming to benefit vulnerable children across six countries.

Strategic outlook Chery Auto reaffirmed its “In somewhere, For somewhere, Be somewhere” strategy, emphasizing technology democratization, global supply-chain resilience, accelerated new-energy deployment and a phased internal carbon-pricing mechanism. The board-approved ESG framework and third-party–assured disclosures aim to align the automaker with international standards while supporting long-term value creation for stakeholders.
