Regulator Revokes Industrial Bank Branch's Name Change Approval Due to Missed Deadline

The regulatory authority in Anshan has formally rescinded its prior approval for a branch name change of Industrial Bank Co.,Ltd. (Industrial Bank).

On June 11, the Anshan Supervision Branch of the National Financial Regulatory Administration issued a decision to cancel the administrative license approval that had previously authorized the name change for Industrial Bank's Hunan Sub-branch in Anshan.

The official decision document states that the regulator had issued a formal reply on October 27, 2025, agreeing to the branch's application for a name change.

However, the branch subsequently failed to complete the required industrial and commercial registration change procedures within the stipulated timeframe, as required by the relevant administrative licensing measures for Chinese-funded commercial banks.

In accordance with Article 70 of the Administrative Licensing Law, the supervisory authority has now officially revoked the approval for this name change.

The regulator has instructed the Anshan branch of Industrial Bank to return the original financial license of the affected sub-branch and apply for a new one within 15 days of receiving the decision notice.
