On August 24, HKEX (00388) announced that Wong Ka Kin will join the exchange on September 21 to lead its group corporate communications efforts, covering media relations, social media, content planning, and speechwriting, while also managing the related communications and content teams. He will report directly to the Group Chief Communications Officer, Ng Wai Wah.
Prior to joining HKEX, Wong spent over a decade in various senior communications roles at Manulife Financial Asia Limited, with his most recent positions including Head of Communications for Manulife Investment Management Asia and Head of Public Relations for Manulife Asia. Ng Wai Wah, the Group Chief Communications Officer of HKEX, expressed a warm welcome to Wong, noting his more than 25 years of experience in financial and corporate communications, along with extensive expertise in strategic advisory, issues management, digital communications, and talent development. Ng expressed confidence that Wong's professional knowledge and leadership capabilities will support the group's strategic initiatives to build a multi-asset ecosystem and contribute to the long-term prosperity of Hong Kong's capital markets.
Before joining Manulife, Wong previously worked at Sun Hung Kai Properties and held senior positions at several international public relations firms, including Fleishman-Hillard and Ketchum. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University in the United States.
