In a mid-year results briefing held on August 28, Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ABC) deputy president Wang Dajun outlined the bank's achievements in inclusive finance, emphasizing its solid progress in serving a broad spectrum of market participants.
Wang noted that at the onset of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the bank has leveraged favorable opportunities to deepen its tri-urban and inclusive development strategy. By enhancing digital, intensive, and integrated capabilities, the bank has stepped up support for small and micro enterprises as well as individual businesses, further cementing its leading position in the sector.
During the first half of the year, the bank's inclusive loan balance reached RMB 4.88 trillion, with a net increase of RMB 532.4 billion. Inclusive loans to small and micro enterprises totaled RMB 4.40 trillion, up RMB 469.8 billion, while the number of borrowing customers in this segment grew by 340,000 to 5.58 million, sustaining a robust growth trajectory.
Looking ahead, Wang outlined four strategic priorities to drive high-quality and sustainable development in inclusive finance. First, the bank will align closely with national development goals, anchoring on the "15th Five-Year Plan" to broaden service scenarios and innovate models that precisely cater to market financing needs. Second, it will optimize the use of fiscal and monetary policy tools, deepening collaboration with securities and guarantee institutions to streamline offerings and processes, thereby maximizing policy benefits for enterprises and individuals.
Third, Wang highlighted the push for digital and intelligent upgrades, focusing on data collaboration and asset accumulation while exploring AI agent applications across multiple scenarios to bolster long-term sustainability. Fourth, the bank will reinforce its risk and compliance framework by dynamically refining risk control models and building an integrated online-offline approach for full-process smart oversight, alongside intensive operational reforms to reduce burdens and safeguard operational integrity.
Wang affirmed that for the full year, Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ABC) will adhere to a stable and progressive approach, complying with regulatory requirements for steady expansion, structural optimization, quality enhancement, and sustainability. By improving its inclusive finance service system and long-term mechanisms, the bank aims to achieve both qualitative improvements and reasonable quantitative growth, invigorating market vitality and contributing to broader socio-economic advancement.
