The "Pearl River e+" public service platform, developed by the Pearl River Waterways Administration of the Ministry of Transport, was officially launched, marking a significant step into the digital, mobile era for shipping services on the Pearl River.
This new platform provides users with real-time access to a wealth of operational data. It displays the number of vessels waiting upstream and downstream at 13 cascade locks on the main Xijiang River route, along with forecasted arrivals, lock operational status, and weather information.
For the Qiongzhou Strait passenger and roll-on/roll-off ferry service, the platform integrates ferry schedules and clearly shows the real-time availability of tickets for passengers, small vehicles, large trucks, and new energy vehicles. It also provides live data on the number of vehicles and passengers waiting to cross from both the northern and southern shores, aiding travelers in planning their journeys more effectively.
The platform consolidates various administrative and service functions of the Pearl River Waterways Administration, including waterway management, transport supervision, and policy regulation. Users can search laws and regulations online, view inspection result announcements, submit policy inquiries, and review official responses.
Additional features include location-based search functions for pollution reception points and energy supply stations, facilitating convenient berthing and replenishment for vessels. An integrated AI assistant named "Zhuxiaohang" is available to provide instant answers to frequently asked questions regarding lock wait times, ticket availability, and lock transit application procedures.
Moving forward, the Pearl River Waterways Administration plans to continuously enhance the platform's functionalities and expand its service coverage. The goal is to leverage digital tools to improve the quality and efficiency of public services for Pearl River shipping, thereby providing strong support for the development of the Pearl River Golden Waterway and the high-quality advancement of the Qiongzhou Strait ferry transport system.
