Two senior executives have departed from the division.

A spokesperson for Uber confirmed the recent exits of two executives from its data annotation business, marking the latest in a series of management changes for the ride-hailing company. Those leaving are Pankaj Kamat, Director of Product for AI Solutions, and Naga Kasu, Senior Director of Engineering for AI Data Infrastructure.

The ride-hailing giant formally launched its data annotation service in November 2024. The business expanded rapidly thereafter, and in October 2025, Uber acquired the data annotation startup Segments.ai to enhance its software capabilities related to LiDAR data annotation, supporting the training of autonomous driving algorithms. News of the executive departures was first reported by Bloomberg.

Uber sells its processed, annotated data to external clients. These partners include Dexterity, a robotics company developing mechanical unloading arms for trucks, as well as several firms researching autonomous driving technology.

This personnel change represents just the latest episode in a recent wave of executive departures at Uber. The company's former Chief Financial Officer, Prashanth Mahendra-Rajah, stepped down in February 2026. In June of this year, Uber eliminated 23% of the positions in its human resources and recruiting departments, with the restructuring primarily affecting mid- to senior-level management roles.
