Recently, the Xiangxiang Village Green Logistics Base for Agricultural Products project in Xiannv Town, Zhijiang City, has basically been completed and is expected to officially begin production and operation on October 15. After the project is put into use, it will further improve the standardization and branding development level of Zhijiang's citrus industry and inject strong momentum into improving the quality and efficiency of the city's citrus industry.
According to reports, the base's processing workshop has a building area of 8,204 square meters, with 8 newly built 100-ton high-standard cold storage facilities. Its daily processing capacity can reach 200 tons, and the maximum dynamic storage volume of fresh fruit is 1,500 tons. Closely following the development needs of the entire citrus industry chain, the base relies on multiple specialized primary processing production lines and modern cold storage facilities to provide surrounding small and medium-sized growers with integrated shared processing, warehousing, and logistics support services; surplus capacity can also undertake orders from individual farmers and various business entities, opening up the circulation link of citrus from the "branch" to the "shelf."
The base's hardware facilities are also being upgraded at the same time. The project has invested 12 million yuan to introduce intelligent sorting equipment, which can accurately grade the internal and external quality of fruit and better match the market's demand for high-quality fresh fruit. Zhou Dainian, secretary of the Party branch of Xiangxiang Village in Xiannv Town, introduced: "When a citrus fruit is sent into the equipment, it can complete testing like a CT scan, accurately measuring sugar content and appearance quality, truly achieving high quality and high price. We are building a standardized workshop precisely to respond to market demand, promote the standardized and branded export of Zhijiang citrus, and let Zhijiang citrus sell for a better price."
After the base is put into production, the intelligent production line will greatly improve production conditions and reduce the labor intensity of workers. The clean and safe working environment, together with the newly added jobs, can absorb nearby farmers with labor capacity to work locally, achieving increased industrial efficiency and higher incomes for the people.
