On July 23, the Jiangsu Provincial Government hosted an "Artificial Intelligence Plus Transportation" exhibition to showcase the latest innovations in AI-driven transportation development. The event aimed to promote the integration of AI technology, industry growth, and practical applications, while boosting high-quality transportation development and safety.
Jiangsu Governor Liu Xiaotao attended the exhibition and delivered a speech. Executive Vice Governor Ma Xin outlined work requirements. During the event, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation presented the "Jiangsu Province 'Artificial Intelligence Plus Transportation' Implementation Plan," released the first list of service providers, and introduced the industry alliance.
Various departments and companies, including the Provincial Department of Transportation, the Provincial Public Security Department, the Jiangsu Maritime Bureau, Jiangsu Transportation Holding, Manbang Group, Momenta Technology, Jiusi Intelligence, and Jiangsu Aviation Industry Group, demonstrated applications in transport approval, traffic management, waterway smart governance, road network maintenance, smart logistics, autonomous driving, and low-altitude management. Experts from enterprises, research institutes, and government agencies provided on-site evaluations.
The meeting emphasized accelerating the commercialization of scenarios, focusing on high-impact, pioneering, and urgent applications to improve the efficiency of intermodal transport across rail, road, water, and air, and to create smart, integrated demonstration projects. Key priorities included strengthening the digital infrastructure by enhancing the supply of computing power, algorithms, and data, building high-quality datasets, algorithm libraries, and toolchains, and developing advanced industry-specific models for niche areas.
Efforts will also be directed at growing key industries, accelerating the restructuring of industrial chains, promoting large-scale development, fostering a tiered system for quality enterprises, advancing core technology breakthroughs, and strengthening government-industry-research collaboration. Comprehensive service guarantees will be provided through precise policy support, a vibrant venture capital environment, the cultivation of multidisciplinary talent, and the establishment of robust mechanisms for AI innovation, application, and regulation.
The meeting stressed the importance of prioritizing safety, maintaining security boundaries, and focusing on practical results. By leveraging new technologies, scenarios, and commercial loops, the aim is to reduce costs, improve efficiency, create new models, and develop new productive forces. Vice Governor Ma Shiguang chaired the event, with Vice Governor Hu Binchen, Secretary-General of the Provincial Government Zhao Jianjun, and officials from provincial departments, cities, enterprises, universities, and research institutions attending in both main and branch venues.
