The flash UK Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index for August, as released by S&P Global, came in at 51.5, aligning perfectly with the consensus forecast.
This figure represents a slight decline from July's reading of 51.9 and marks a significant improvement compared to the 47.0 recorded during the same period last year. The result falls within the range predicted by the 24 analysts surveyed, whose estimates spanned from 53.0 to 50.9.
In other components of the report, the flash services business activity index registered 52.8, surpassing the analyst prediction of 51.8. Meanwhile, the composite output index edged up to 52.5, a modest increase from the 52.2 observed in the previous month.
