On April 2, 2026, the third meeting of the second standing committee of the China Banking Association's Information Technology and Digital Finance Committee was held in Beijing. Representatives from the Technology Supervision Department of the National Financial Regulatory Administration and the China Banking Association attended and delivered speeches. A representative from Postal Savings Bank of China, serving as the lead institution, also addressed the meeting. Delegates from 38 standing committee member institutions were present.
The meeting reviewed the work achievements of 2025. Last year, the committee actively responded to the national strategy of building a strong financial sector, engaged proactively with regulators and member institutions, and conducted in-depth policy research and analysis of industry trends. Focusing on the themes of "technological innovation, technology empowerment, and capability enhancement," the committee advanced work in key areas such as banking digital transformation, financial technology risk prevention, and improving efficiency through technology. These efforts significantly enhanced the committee's role as a platform and its professional influence in guiding innovation within the industry.
Aligning with strategic goals for the start of the "16th Five-Year Plan" period and in accordance with requirements from the financial regulator, the meeting outlined key tasks for 2026 based on industry developments. The committee will operate under the principle of "assisting regulation and serving the industry" by organizing training, exchange, research, and promotional activities. It aims to practically drive the overall improvement of technological capabilities in the banking sector and support the high-quality development of digital finance. Key focuses include: organizing industry exchanges and collaborative research centered on national strategic directions and regulatory policies; facilitating the implementation of plans for high-quality digital finance development; and balancing development with security to strengthen risk prevention foundations for advanced technology and data application.
The meeting reviewed and approved the "2025 Work Report of the Information Technology and Digital Finance Committee" and released the "2025 Research Achievements Report on Information Technology and Digital Finance." Attendees held in-depth discussions on the key tasks for 2026 and the development direction and priorities for the industry during the "16th Five-Year Plan" period.
