Star Analyst Dai Kang Leaves GF Securities After a Decade of New Fortune Top Analyst Honors

Deep News11-27

Dai Kang, a ten-time New Fortune Best Analyst awardee, has resigned from GF Securities. On November 27, it was confirmed that Dai Kang, former Managing Director of GF Securities Development Research Center and Chief Asset Research Officer, recently departed the firm. His registration details have also been removed from the Securities Association of China. His personal WeChat public account, "Dai Kang's Strategy World," last updated a GF Securities asset research report on November 5.

Dai Kang, a CFA holder with a master's degree in economics from Renmin University of China, has nearly 14 years of A-share investment strategy research experience. He serves as a postgraduate mentor at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai National Accounting Institute, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Notably, he predicted A-shares' transition from bear to bull markets in early 2019 and later cautioned prudence in December 2021. In November 2022, his bullish call on Hong Kong stocks—"Dawn for HK Stocks"—gained widespread market recognition.

Previously, Dai worked at Guotai Junan Securities and Huatai Securities before joining GF Securities as Chief Strategist in November 2017. In 2024, he was promoted to Managing Director and Chief Asset Research Officer. From 2014 to 2023, he consecutively ranked among New Fortune's top analysts, securing 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 5th, 4th, and 4th places from 2018 to 2023 with his GF Securities team.

This year has seen a wave of high-profile analyst moves. For instance: - In January, Zheng Zhenxiang returned to Guosheng Securities as Co-Head of Research and Chief Electronics Analyst after a stint at Founder Securities. - In March, Song Xuetao, former Chief Macro Analyst at TF Securities, joined Sinolink Securities as Chief Macro Analyst and later Chief Economist. - Also in March, Sun Binbin, former Deputy Head of TF Securities Research Institute and Chief Fixed Income Analyst, moved to Caitong Securities as Business Director and Chief Economist. - The same month, Yan Xiang, former Chief Economist at Huafu Securities, joined Founder Securities in the same role. - Late March saw Chen Guo, ex-Chief Strategist at China Securities, join East Money Securities as Deputy Head of Research and Chief Strategist. - In April, Huang Yanming, a veteran analyst with 31 years of experience, left Guotai Junan/Haitong Securities for Orient Securities. - Also in April, Qin Tai, former Chief Macro Analyst at Shenwan Hongyuan and Huajin Securities, joined Huafu Securities as Deputy Head of Research and Head of Macro/Non-Bank Analysis. - In June, Xun Yugen, a New Fortune Platinum Analyst, stepped down as Chief Economist at Guotai Junan/Haitong Securities.

As year-end approaches, the "transfer window" for star analysts intensifies. Recent departures include Zhou Xuhui, former Co-Head of Research at East Money Securities, who confirmed his exit. Multiple brokerages, including Guosheng Securities and Huafu Securities, have reported similar high-profile resignations.
