The province-wide campaign to introduce "Ganwei" agricultural products into supermarkets was launched in Jinchang City on April 22. The event, which also serves as a pre-Labor Day promotion for local specialty agricultural products, aims to establish an efficient platform for precise production-marketing connections and urban-rural integration, thereby facilitating the regular presence of "Ganwei" products in supermarkets across the province.
Highlighted under the theme "Ganwei in Supermarkets, Benefiting People and Boosting Consumption," the event featured a showcase of premium "Ganwei" items. These included Lanzhou lily, Dingxi potatoes, plateau-characteristic coarse cereals, and selenium-enriched high-quality vegetables, attracting numerous residents who stopped to inquire and made enthusiastic purchases.
As the host city, Jinchang has consistently leveraged its unique cold and arid climate, tapping into advantages such as abundant sunshine, meltwater from the Qilian Mountains, and selenium-rich soil. To date, the city has developed four nationally recognized specialty agricultural products. The number of "Ganwei" and "Ganwei Gold" agricultural product brands has reached 27 and 69, respectively. Notably, Yongchang carrots were honored as one of the top ten regional public brands of "Ganwei" in 2023, while "Yuansheng Aite" sheep milk was selected as a typical case of corporate trademark branding in the province. Yongchang County has successfully been designated one of the first national-level counties for agricultural product quality and safety. Furthermore, both Jinchang City and Jinchuan District have been recognized as provincial-level models for agricultural product quality and safety, underscoring a steady enhancement in quality assurance capabilities. In 2025, sales of "Ganwei" agricultural products in Jinchang exceeded 1.178 billion yuan, marking a significant year-on-year increase of 30.88% and demonstrating substantial industrial progress.
Capitalizing on this event and the upcoming Labor Day holiday consumption peak, Jinchang City plans to deepen collaboration between local supermarkets and "Ganwei" producers. Efforts will include standardizing dedicated sections and counters for "Ganwei" products, establishing long-term mechanisms for direct sourcing from production areas and direct supply to markets, and streamlining consumer channels. These initiatives are expected to further assist in expanding the market for "Ganwei" agricultural products across the province and benefit a broader consumer base.
