China Light Industry has formally announced the cancellation of the third "China Brewing Master" designation, a title jointly awarded in 2021 with the China Alcoholic Drinks Association. The decision follows a self-review aimed at strictly adhering to national regulations and standardizing practices within the industry, according to an official bulletin released today.
The revocation applies to the entire cohort recognized in 2021, and all relevant organizations and individuals are now prohibited from using the title in any promotional or publicity activities. The original selection process was described as being conducted on an industry-specific and enterprise-level basis, though certificates were only issued to the 41 honorees in 2023 in response to requests from industry players.
The full list of individuals whose titles have been withdrawn spans major players across China's liquor, beer, and wine sectors. It includes Wan Bo, Wang Li, and Wang Fang from leading baijiu and wine producers, as well as Liu Miao from Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd. and Liu Ming from Yibin Wuliangye Co., Ltd. Notably, Li Shaoliang of Henan Songhe Liquor Industry Co., Ltd. and Yang Bo from Shanxi Xinghuacun Fenjiu Group Co., Ltd. are also on the list.
Other prominent figures affected include Wu Jianfeng from Jiangsu Jinshiyuan Distillery Co., Ltd., Shen Yi of Sichuan Langjiu Co., Ltd., and Song Kewei from the Niulanshan Distillery of Beijing Shunxin Agriculture Co., Ltd. The roster extends to beer and yellow wine executives such as Yin Hua from Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd., Liu Yueqin from China Resources Snow Breweries, and Mao Laigen from Zhejiang Tapai Shaoxing Wine Co., Ltd.
Additionally, the revoked list includes technical leaders from Jiangsu Yanghe Distillery, notably Zhou Xinhu and Zhong Yu, alongside Zhong Fangda from Kweichow Moutai Group. Representatives from other regional distilleries, such as Hou Jianguang of Henan Yangshao Distillery and Xu Qinzhen of Anhui Kouzi Distillery Co., Ltd., are also included, reflecting the widespread scope of this regulatory action across the beverage industry.
