On November 8, value investor Duan Yongping responded to an online query about portfolio allocation, saying: "When you ask like this, you actually should sell everything and put it in the bank."
The questioner described a portfolio consisting of 35% in Google with an average purchase price of $250, 35% in Pinduoduo at an $80 average, 20% in Pop Mart at HK$152, and 10% in S&P exposure. The user asked for guidance on whether the allocation and average costs were reasonable and referenced the account known as “Dadao Wuxing Wo Youxing.”
In his reply, Duan did not assess each holding individually or provide granular allocation advice. Instead, he offered a single overarching suggestion, implying that for someone posing the question in that manner, moving entirely to bank deposits was the appropriate course. He did not elaborate further in the post.
