Chongqing M&E Releases 2025 ESG Report: GHG Down 7.80%, Clean-Power Usage Up 21.85%

Chongqing Machinery & Electric Co., Ltd. (Chongqing M&E) has published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, covering operations from 1 January to 31 December 2025 and ten mainland subsidiaries. Key disclosures are summarised below.

Governance & Certification • 100 % of manufacturing subsidiaries are certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; nine hold GB/T 45001. • Four plants—Chongqing Cummins, Pigeon Company, Machine Tool Group and Chongqing Pump Company—maintain national “Green Factory” status. • A board-led ESG framework oversees climate-related risk, with execution by an ESG Working Group and specialist committees at subsidiary level.

Environment • Greenhouse-gas emissions fell to 75,509.39 tCO₂e (-7.80 % YoY); Scope 1 at 18,718.57 tCO₂e and Scope 2 at 56,790.82 tCO₂e. • Total energy use slipped 1.20 % YoY to 180,639.65 MWh; clean-energy consumption climbed 21.85 % to 17,254.94 MWh, supported by rooftop solar and green-power procurement. • Water withdrawal dropped 6.49 % YoY to 829,900.79 m³. • Hazardous waste totalled 3,809.13 t, with a 100 % compliant disposal rate; non-hazardous waste reached 22,629.23 t, of which 3,458.85 t was recycled.

Climate Strategy & Targets • Subsidiary Chongqing Cummins targets a 50 % cut in facility-generated GHG by 2030 (base-year 2018) and full carbon neutrality by 2050; it also aims to lower industrial water use 30 % by 2030 (base-year 2024). • Group-wide initiatives include heat-recovery compressors, high-temperature bag-house retrofits, micro-grid energy-storage projects and wider deployment of distributed photovoltaics.

Supply-Chain Management • The Group engaged 6,160 suppliers; about 3,000 are Chongqing-based. • 70 % of suppliers have signed the Supplier Code of Conduct; 60 % have contracts containing environmental and labour clauses.

Human Capital • Workforce stood at 6,215, all full-time. • Training hours reached 148,647.40, averaging 12.74 per employee. • Zero work-related fatalities or injuries were recorded.

Community & Welfare • Consumption-based poverty-alleviation purchases totalled RMB 1.03 million. • Flagship programmes include the “Friend of Vision” smart-cup project benefiting 3,000 visually-impaired residents and an “Intelligent Manufacturing Empowerment” STEM scheme for 1,000 students.

Awards & Recognition • Chongqing M&E collected two “Top 100 Hong Kong Listed Companies” awards and was added to MSCI’s Global Small Cap Index. • CQGI Group and Machine Tool Group earned Chongqing Municipal “Healthy Enterprise” accreditation.

The company states it will refine quantitative climate goals, continue expanding clean-energy deployment and tighten supplier ESG oversight in the next reporting cycle.
