Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanning… recently, the schedule of Yu Fei, vice president of Wenzhun Intelligent (Xiongan) Technology Co., Ltd., has been packed full. Not long ago, Wenzhun Intelligent released its new-generation "Jishu" large data model LimiX-2, which significantly improved performance compared with the previous generation and ranked first in three international mainstream structured data test leaderboards (TabArena, BCCO, TALENT). As soon as the news came out, customer calls kept coming, and Yu Fei, carrying a backpack, rushed to various places to discuss cooperation with clients.
Yu Fei, who is constantly on the road, is a returnee talent. After graduating from university in 2005, he went to Denmark to study and, after completing his postdoctoral work, became a tenured associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark. In 2022, Yu Fei resolutely resigned from his teaching position in Denmark and was introduced back to China through a Beijing talent program, working as a technology project manager engaged in the commercialization of university scientific and technological achievements. In this process, he became acquainted with Cui Peng, chief scientist of Wenzhun Intelligent and a professor at Tsinghua University. In order to strongly invite Yu Fei to start a business together, Cui Peng invited him to inspect Xiongan New Area on the spot. In October 2025, as soon as Yu Fei arrived in Xiongan, he was immediately attracted by the booming artificial intelligence industry — numerous enterprises gathered here, upstream and downstream neighbors were close by, application scenarios were within reach, and innovative achievements emerged one after another… The vigorous industrial momentum made Yu Fei feel that there was great potential on this land. He subsequently joined Wenzhun Intelligent and opened a brand-new chapter in his life in the city of the future. "Xiongan has built the industrial ecosystem so well; I believe dreams can definitely be realized here," he said confidently.
Yu Fei's story is a vivid microcosm of how Xiongan New Area draws talent through industry and projects as traction. "To develop an intelligent agent, you first need to tell it what your needs are, and then teach it what to do and how to do it." Recently, in a classroom at the Xiongan Artificial Intelligence Training Base, Yang Zidong stood in front of the large screen, teaching students how to develop intelligent agents. Yang Zidong holds a master's degree from Beijing University of Technology and after graduation once worked in artificial intelligence application development and other fields. At the end of August this year, after learning that the Xiongan Artificial Intelligence Training Base had been put into use, he decisively resigned and joined the base as an artificial intelligence lecturer. "I have had a dream of being a teacher since childhood, and the base has allowed me to realize that dream," Yang Zidong said. After joining the base, he taught artificial intelligence general knowledge and intelligent agent development courses to trainees from government departments, central state-owned enterprises, and schools, helping everyone master and make good use of artificial intelligence technology. Since being put into use, the Xiongan Artificial Intelligence Training Base has carried out 17 training sessions in total, covering nearly a thousand trainees, and has become an important platform for the integrated development of technology, education, talent and industry.
Major projects also play the role of "building nests to attract phoenixes." On October 9, entering Beijing Yuding Additive Manufacturing Research Institute Co., Ltd., located in the pilot-scale testing base of the Xiongan New Area Science and Innovation Center, 3D printing equipment lasers flashed, and the scene was bustling. The company's deputy general manager, Yin Haifeng, was carefully checking production conditions with colleagues to ensure that the product's technical parameters met requirements. Yuding Additive is a major project in the new area's new materials industry. In May 2024, Xiongan Major Equipment Metal New Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd. was registered and established, and in September of the same year, Yuding Additive's registration location was moved from Beijing to Xiongan. The landing of the project brought a group of talents, and Yin Haifeng was one of them. As a senior expert in the nuclear power field, Yin Haifeng previously worked at a central state-owned enterprise. At the end of 2024, at the invitation of Wang Huaming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor at Beihang University, and founder of Yuding Additive, he came to Xiongan for a visit and inspection. During the visit, he was not only impressed by the advanced additive manufacturing technology of Academician Wang Huaming's team, but also attracted by the new area's strong atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship, and immediately decided to join Yuding Additive. After coming to Xiongan, Yin Haifeng was responsible for the research and development and production of key components for nuclear power equipment. He led the team to overcome many technical difficulties and successfully produced qualified components using 3D printing. "I will continue to take root in Xiongan, strive and forge ahead on this hot land, and grow together with the enterprise," he said.
Industry and projects are like strong magnetic fields, attracting talents from all directions to gather. The arrival of various types of talent in turn feeds back into industrial development and project construction, injecting momentum into the high-quality construction and development of Xiongan New Area.
