Japanese and South Korean Markets Open Lower, KOSPI Plunges 4.4%

Major stock indices in Japan and South Korea opened the trading session in negative territory on Tuesday.

The Nikkei 225 index in Japan began the day down 1.2%, opening at a level of 67,900.43 points.

In South Korea, the benchmark KOSPI index experienced a much sharper decline, falling 4.4% at the open to 6,960.50 points.
