UBS Opposes Proposed Swiss Capital Regulations

Deep News01-12

UBS Group AG (UBS) saw its shares rise 0.25% in early Monday trading. The group issued a warning that Switzerland's proposed rules, which would require the full deduction of overseas subsidiaries from Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) capital, could potentially increase its capital requirements by approximately $23 billion. This move would also weaken its competitive standing relative to peers in the European Union and the United States.
