This year, winter wheat sowing in Hebei has been delayed by approximately 12 days compared to the same period last year. In response to the late sowing conditions, Hebei has swiftly mobilized agricultural experts to implement both online and offline strategies, ensuring scientific and orderly wheat planting. As of 5 PM today (November 1), over 98% of the planned 33 million mu (about 2.2 million hectares) of winter wheat has been sown, marking the near completion of the accelerated sowing task.
In Jize County, Handan City, harrowing machines are working tirelessly to break up and level the deeply plowed soil, speeding up land drying. Li Junshe, a family farm operator in Jize County, noted, "Due to high soil moisture this year, we plowed the fields twice and allowed proper drying before sowing." To support farmers, Jize County has dispatched seven agricultural technology teams to provide on-site guidance for timely winter wheat planting.
Beyond offline assistance, agricultural departments are also leveraging online services. Feixiang District in Handan has introduced a dual-track service model combining "field classrooms" with "cloud guidance" to address farmers' sowing challenges in real time. Zhao Danyang, a science and technology commissioner in Feixiang District, stated, "We will offer targeted support through technical training, on-site services, cloud-based solutions, and smart services, ensuring scientific sowing and easing farmers' concerns."
According to the latest agricultural report, Hebei has successfully sown 98% of its winter wheat acreage, effectively completing the urgent sowing task despite autumn flood challenges.
