Bank of Communications Reports First Quarter Net Profit of 26.16 Billion Yuan, Up 3.11%

Bank of Communications (03328) announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2026. The group recorded net operating income of approximately 69.689 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.89%. Net profit attributable to the parent company's shareholders was 26.162 billion yuan, up 3.11% compared to the same period last year. Basic earnings per share stood at 0.3 yuan.

The annualized average return on assets and the annualized weighted average return on equity were 0.66% and 9.07%, respectively. As of the end of the first quarter of 2026, the group's total assets reached 16,272.960 billion yuan, an increase of 4.66% from the end of the previous year. Total liabilities amounted to 14,971.189 billion yuan, up 4.93% from the end of the prior year. Shareholders' equity attributable to the parent company's shareholders was 1,290.674 billion yuan, a growth of 1.69% compared to the end of the preceding year.

The balance of non-performing loans was 122.466 billion yuan, an increase of 5.483 billion yuan, or 4.69%, from the end of the previous year. The non-performing loan ratio was 1.30%, up 0.02 percentage points from the end of the prior year. The provision coverage ratio was 202.80%, a decrease of 5.58 percentage points from the end of the preceding year. The provision ratio stood at 2.63%, down 0.04 percentage points from the end of the previous year.
