The Ministry of Commerce and eight other departments have issued an opinion on promoting the high-quality development of the drug retail industry, which proposes establishing a commercial insurance payment guarantee system. The document guides the coordinated development of commercial health insurance and basic medical insurance, supports insurance institutions in developing commercial health insurance products suitable for drug retail scenarios, and meets the public's diverse protection needs. Commercial insurance institutions are encouraged to launch health insurance products that cover services such as health management and rehabilitation care. For high-value drugs and medical devices, support will be given to drug retail enterprises and commercial insurance institutions to establish a convenient and efficient payment coordination mechanism with shared risks, effectively reducing patients' payment pressure.
