Jingong Township's New Era Civilization Practice Center has partnered with the Jingong Township Central School to launch a comprehensive cybersecurity awareness campaign, coinciding with National Cybersecurity Awareness Week. The initiative combines cybersecurity education with the "Anti-Pornography and Illegal Publications – Youth Protection" program to establish a robust protective framework for students and faculty.
The campaign centers on the principle that cybersecurity serves the people and depends on public participation, while integrating youth protection requirements. Educational sessions focus on everyday online risks faced by young people, including personal information protection, fraud prevention, identifying online rumors, resisting harmful digital content, practicing healthy internet usage, and avoiding illegal publications and inappropriate online material. The content is tailored to match elementary students' cognitive abilities and their typical online activities, making cybersecurity knowledge truly accessible and relevant.
During the events, volunteers presented real-world cases involving youth cyber scams, data breaches, online bullying, gaming-related fraud, and exposure to inappropriate or pirated content. They explained cybersecurity regulations, fundamental protective measures, and youth protection principles using clear, engaging language appropriate for young audiences. Particular attention was given to warning students about common risky behaviors such as sharing personal or family details carelessly, trusting unfamiliar online contacts, engaging in unverified payment transactions, visiting harmful websites, and purchasing pirated materials.
This initiative has successfully addressed gaps in students' cybersecurity knowledge while strengthening the entire school community's awareness of online safety, risk assessment capabilities, and legal understanding. Students now have clearer guidance on developing proper cybersecurity mindsets and civilized internet habits while learning to resist harmful cultural influences.
