JPMorgan CEO Dimon Warns Market Leverage Is "Relatively High"

Deep News05:40

JPMorgan Chase Chief Executive Jamie Dimon has stated that market leverage, encompassing prime brokerage, hedge funds, exchange-traded funds, and Treasury market arbitrage, is currently elevated.

"Market leverage is relatively high," Dimon said in an interview on Wednesday. "In this kind of environment, there is a higher chance that the market gets disrupted by something quickly, and people will panic as a result."

Last week, hedge fund Situational Awareness, which had used leverage to bet on artificial intelligence stocks, reached an agreement with Citadel to transfer some of its assets under pressure from a sharp decline in the tech sector. Regarding this, Dimon commented on Wednesday, "The market digested it very well."
