U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated on Sunday that American consumers can expect relief from the pressure of high gasoline prices, though such relief may not arrive for several more weeks. During a television interview, he remarked, "The American people are feeling the pressure firsthand. That feeling is likely to continue for a number of weeks. Ultimately, however, we will eliminate the most significant risks facing global energy supplies." When asked whether gasoline prices could fall below $3 per gallon before the summer, Wright responded, "It is very possible that could happen." He added, "But in a situation like this, nothing is guaranteed. The timeline is not yet entirely clear, though I believe it is certainly a goal of this administration."
