Bulletin Express06-01

CHK Oil Limited (00632) has announced a planned change of independent auditor in accordance with Rule 13.51(4) of the Hong Kong Listing Rules. Forvis Mazars CPA Limited, auditor since June 2020, will retire at the conclusion of the company’s annual general meeting scheduled for 26 June 2026.

The board, citing auditor rotation as a corporate-governance measure, will seek shareholder approval at the forthcoming AGM to appoint HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited as the new auditor. Subject to shareholder endorsement and the completion of standard client-acceptance procedures, HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng will serve until the next AGM.

The Audit Committee recommended the appointment after reviewing the prospective firm’s audit fee proposal, industry knowledge, independence, reputation, audit scope and timetable, technical competence, Stock Exchange and HKFRS experience, resource capacity, and alignment with Accounting and Financial Reporting Council guidelines. Both the Board and the Audit Committee confirmed there is no disagreement or unresolved matter with Forvis Mazars, which has likewise stated that it has no issues to bring to shareholders’ attention.

A supplemental circular detailing the proposed appointment, together with a revised AGM notice, will be dispatched to shareholders in due course. The Board expressed its gratitude to Forvis Mazars for its service over the past six years.
