Cross-city transportation and payments between Macau and cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area are becoming increasingly convenient. At the 2026 BEYOND International Technology and Innovation Expo, Macau Pass and other entities collaborated with numerous ecosystem enterprises under Alibaba, including Alibaba Cloud, Qianwen AI Glasses, Wuying, and Wukong, to showcase how digital technology is integrating into urban operations and residents' daily lives. As Macau accelerates its smart city development and the strategy for appropriate economic diversification is gradually implemented, digitalization has permeated all aspects of urban operations, becoming a core engine for high-quality development. Today, MPay Macau Wallet serves approximately 90% of local residents, deeply embedded in daily life, covering over a hundred lifestyle scenarios including dining and retail, supermarket group purchases, taxi rides, movies and performances, utility bill payments, and cross-border payments, becoming a "one-app solution" super gateway for digital living. Furthermore, cross-border interconnectivity continues to expand. Leveraging the Alipay+ global payment network, MPay users can now make payments in multiple countries and regions worldwide; meanwhile, Macau Pass supports tourists from various countries and regions using their local e-wallets for consumption in Macau, significantly enhancing the shopping experience for international visitors. The familiar Macau Pass card is no longer limited to local transportation payments. Products such as the "Macau Pass-National Pass Card," "Zhuhai-Macau Co-branded Transit Card," and "Wuhan-Macau Co-branded Card" have been successively launched, successfully achieving seamless integration of public transportation between Zhuhai and Macau, Guangdong and Macau, and even multiple cities in mainland China, promoting Macau's deep integration into the Greater Bay Area and the national transportation network. In terms of AI technology applications, in April 2026, Macau Pass independently developed the "AI Payment Assistant" officially launched, helping small, medium, and micro-enterprises easily embrace the AI era. Previously, Macau Pass also collaborated with Amap to launch the "Vibrant Macau Support Plan," creating AI digital stores and providing massive traffic support, giving greater exposure to long-established brands and small-to-medium businesses hidden in alleyways, thereby revitalizing community economic vitality. Alibaba's ecosystem collaborative innovation is building a new paradigm for Macau's urban development. As early as 2017, the Macau SAR government signed the "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Building a Smart City" with Alibaba, using Alibaba Cloud as the core technological support to promote Macau's smart city construction. It not only features leading capabilities such as globally pioneering proactive service, spatial 3D display, and AI clone simultaneous interpretation but also integrates Alibaba's full ecosystem of services including shopping, payments, ride-hailing, business travel, and entertainment event inquiries, attracting numerous attendees to experience it.
