Otto Aerospace recently announced the appointment of its current President and Chief Operating Officer, Scott Drennan, to succeed Paul Touw as President and Chief Executive Officer. This leadership transition signifies the company's official move from the conceptual design phase into a new stage focused on execution.

Drennan brings extensive aerospace experience to the role. Prior to joining Otto, he served as Vice President of Innovation and Advanced Concepts at Bell Helicopter, contributing to over ten commercial and military aircraft certification programs. He was also the Chief Technology Officer and a founding team member of Supernal, the air mobility unit under Hyundai Motor Company. During his tenure as COO, he led the successful completion of a critical preliminary design review for the "Phantom 3500" project. He also collaborated with DARPA to complete independent test flights for an advanced laminar flow unmanned aerial vehicle, validating the practical application of the company's laminar flow technology.

Dennis Muilenburg, Chairman of the Board of Otto Aerospace and former CEO of Boeing, stated that Paul Touw played a crucial role in the company's founding stage. He added that "as the company transitions from conceptual design to manufacturing and test flights, Scott is the right leader to guide us into our next chapter."

Otto is currently developing the "Phantom 3500," an all-composite light jet aircraft utilizing natural laminar flow technology. It promises a range of 3,200 nautical miles with the performance of a mid-size jet and is planned to enter service by 2030. Drennan commented, "Our mission is purely about execution. We are focused on building this aircraft on schedule without compromising on quality."
