A new action plan designed to promote Sichuan's distinctive agricultural products in both domestic and international markets has been officially released. The "Sichuan Province Specialty Agricultural Products 'Out of Sichuan, Out to Sea' Action Plan (2026–2030)" was jointly formulated by the Sichuan Provincial Rural Work Office, Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Department of Commerce, and Chengdu Customs.
The plan outlines five key tasks aimed at expanding the market reach of Sichuan's agricultural specialties. These include establishing a provincial-level comprehensive agricultural product trade service platform, cultivating marketing talent in production areas and buyer networks in sales regions, strengthening international supply chains, enhancing trade hub infrastructure and logistics networks, and boosting the influence of the "Tianfu Granary" brand both within China and abroad.
By the end of 2027, the province aims to achieve agricultural product exports valued at 10 billion yuan. In 2025, Sichuan's agricultural exports totaled 7.31 billion yuan. The plan is based on the province's agricultural conditions and focuses on addressing both opportunities and challenges in expanding market access.
To ensure effective implementation, a three-tier coordination mechanism at the provincial, city, and county levels will be established under the existing inter-departmental cooperation framework for agricultural opening-up. Efforts will also be made to strengthen policy support and talent development.
Over the five-year period, the plan aims to achieve substantive progress in platform construction, enterprise cultivation, logistics hub development, and market expansion, with the goal of elevating Sichuan's export-oriented agriculture to a new level by 2030.
