Shanghai police have recently cracked three cases related to ticketing order for the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, with four suspects placed under criminal coercive measures and one violator administratively detained.
A company employee, surnamed Wang, obtained conference tickets from an exhibitor and handed them to her husband, surnamed Guan, who sold them on online platforms at prices several times higher than the face value, accumulating illegal profits of over 300,000 yuan. Currently, suspects Wang and Guan have been placed under criminal coercive measures by the police.
Starting from July 16, a suspect surnamed Zhang conspired with another surnamed Liu to post information online, falsely claiming they could bring people into the World Artificial Intelligence Conference venue, charging 500 to 800 yuan per person and making illegal profits of over 9,000 yuan. Currently, Zhang and Liu have been placed under criminal coercive measures on suspicion of fraud.
In another case, a violator surnamed Yao used online platforms to post similar false information, claiming he could bring people into the conference forum site, making illegal profits of over 1,000 yuan, and was administratively detained by the police.
Shanghai police consistently adhere to the principle of "striking early and striking small, cracking down as soon as it surfaces," severely cracking down on illegal and criminal activities such as ticket scalping and disturbing public order, ensuring that each case discovered is investigated and dealt with.
The public is urged not to believe in so-called "internal tickets" or "can bring people in" and other false information to avoid being deceived. If relevant leads are discovered, they can call 110 to report to the police.
