Central New Energy Holding Group Limited (Central New Energy, 01735) has announced a proposal to change its English name to “Central AI Technology Group Limited” and adopt the new dual foreign Chinese name “中環智算科技控股集團有限公司”.
The rebranding strategy will be put to a shareholder vote at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM), with final approval contingent on the issuance of a certificate of incorporation on change of name by the Registrar of Companies in the Cayman Islands.
Management cites accelerating expansion into artificial-intelligence-related businesses as the primary driver. According to the group’s 2026 interim report, revenue from AI chips and servers reached HKD1.05 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026, underscoring the company’s pivot toward data-centre investment, construction and operation.
If approved, the new name will become effective upon registration in the Cayman Islands, after which the company will update its statutory filings in Hong Kong. Existing share certificates will remain valid, and no free exchange will be arranged. New share certificates issued thereafter will bear the new name.
The board plans to apply for new English and Chinese stock short names with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange once the name change takes effect. The proposal will not affect shareholder rights, daily operations or the company’s financial position.
A circular detailing the proposed name change and the EGM notice will be dispatched to shareholders in due course. No shareholder is required to abstain from voting on the resolution. Further announcements will disclose the EGM results, the effective date of the new name and the updated stock short names.
