As the largest and highest-yielding prefecture-level city for soybean cultivation in China and a crucial national commodity grain base, Heihe City in Heilongjiang Province is currently in a critical phase of seizing the agricultural season and advancing spring sowing on May 16. Deep integration of technological means such as Beidou navigation and intelligent monitoring with advanced planting techniques is safeguarding the sowing of 28 million mu (1 hectare = 15 mu) of grain crops. The photo shows an aerial view of spring farming in Aihui District, Heihe City, featuring a Jinling seeder and a Longyu compactor, captured by Zhai Jiahao. This year, Heihe's soybean planting area is projected to reach 20 million mu. The city will rely on integrated improvements in fertile land, quality seeds, efficient machinery, and scientific methods to accelerate the spring sowing pace, ensure timely agricultural operations, and continuously strengthen the foundation of China's food security. Among these areas, Nenjiang City, administered by Heihe, is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Soybeans," while Aihui District is one of Heihe's core grain production zones. In the fields of Jiaxing Modern Agricultural Machinery Cooperative in Aihui District, Heihe City, three high-horsepower seeders roar and shuttle, uniformly sowing corn seeds into the black soil. The process of sowing, covering soil, compacting, and fertilizing is completed seamlessly. The cooperative has newly upgraded the seeders with the Beidou navigation system, which not only ensures uniform row and plant spacing but also significantly enhances operational efficiency, laying a foundation for stable and high corn yields. Following corn sowing, the process transitions to soybean planting. Simultaneously, over 200 kilometers away in Nenjiang City, spring sowing operations also showcase distinct features enabled by technology. The city employs large-ridge dense planting technology as a core support for stable yield and income growth. By scientifically optimizing crop planting density, it effectively improves field ventilation and light conditions, establishing a solid foundation for later crop growth and development. At the sowing sites, agricultural machinery operated by farmers is equipped with the Beidou GPS navigation intelligent monitoring system. Displays in the cabs show real-time data on sowing depth, speed, and coverage, ensuring precise utilization of every inch of farmland. The widespread adoption of technological equipment has improved the efficiency of spring sowing in Nenjiang compared to previous years, with field sowing expected to be fully completed by May 22. In recent years, Heihe City has continuously increased investment in agricultural technology, tailoring planting plans and technology service systems to the regional characteristics of its cold, black soil. From upgrading intelligent agricultural machinery for cooperatives to promoting advanced planting techniques to farmers, from establishing green channels for agricultural material distribution to forming expert guidance teams for agricultural technology, comprehensive technological services throughout the chain empower farmers with greater confidence in grain cultivation, accelerating the spring sowing pace while ensuring sowing quality.
