Berkshire Hathaway has committed an additional $330 million to Bending Spoons, a move that sent the company's stock sharply higher.
This fresh capital injection follows Berkshire's $600 million investment during the company's IPO in July of this year.
Regulatory filings show that after this investment is completed, Berkshire holds a 4% stake in the company.
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Nasdaq trading floor in New York, Bending Spoons co-founder Matteo Danieli attended the company's IPO listing ceremony.
According to documents disclosed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) has made a new $330 million investment in Bending Spoons S.p.A. (BSP), and the news drove the company's stock price up 35%.
This Italian company is a firm that frequently acquires digital assets. It completed its listing on the Nasdaq in July, at which time Berkshire invested $600 million. This is a follow-on investment.
Under the terms of the deal, Bending Spoons will issue 10 million common shares to Berkshire at $33 per share.
Francesco Patarnello, co-founder and head of business acquisitions at Bending Spoons, said in a statement: "Bending Spoons has been continuously evaluating acquisition opportunities, and our pipeline remains ample. We believe Berkshire Hathaway's investment represents recognition of our team and business platform. This capital will further enhance our financial flexibility, helping us advance high-quality acquisitions and implement our overall financing strategy."
Regulatory filings show that after this investment is completed, Berkshire's stake reaches 4%.
Earlier this year, legendary investor Warren Buffett stepped down, and Greg Abel took over as chief executive. This is another investment decision made by Berkshire under Abel's leadership.
