Tianjin Wuqing Accelerates Development of New Industrial Hub Through Strategic Projects and Expanded Collaboration

Deep News08-24

In the first half of this year, Tianjin's Wuqing District has been actively integrating into the coordinated development strategy for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, leveraging the construction of the Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City as a key engine to drive the synergy between technological innovation and industrial upgrading. During this period, the district successfully landed 479 projects with a projected total investment of 39.144 billion yuan, of which 67 projects originated from Beijing, accounting for a planned investment of 29.67 billion yuan and representing over 70% of the total. This robust momentum underscores the district's growing high-quality development potential.

Among the notable beneficiaries is Xinuo Tongke (Tianjin) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a company that moved from Beijing to establish its presence in the Wuqing Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City. Leveraging the advantages of Beijing-Tianjin integration and the district's favorable business environment, the company has experienced rapid growth, with a marked acceleration in its average annual revenue growth rate over the past two years.

In terms of innovation, the Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City has seized the opportunity presented by the expansion of the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Science and Technology Innovation Center. It has established deep cooperative relationships with 14 universities and research institutes, attracted 11 academician and expert teams, and set up one national key laboratory along with 25 municipal-level R&D innovation platforms. Furthermore, it has cultivated 889 national high-tech enterprises and over 1,200 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises.

The industrial cluster within the Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City is also rapidly taking shape. Currently, the construction of the "two centers and two supporting facilities" for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Technology Ecological Port (Wuqing Park) is progressing smoothly, with eight projects, including Yanlong Technology, slated to begin production this year. Additionally, the district is collaborating with the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Langfang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the Tiankai Higher Education Science and Technology Park to jointly build industrial parks focused on biomedicine and other sectors, thereby continuously expanding regional collaboration. Building on the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone, the district is also strengthening the Tianjin Computing Power Scheduling Comprehensive Service Platform and accelerating the construction of smart computing centers operated by major telecom providers such as China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile.

Looking ahead, Gao Qiaosheng, Director of the Wuqing District Development and Reform Commission, stated that the district will firmly seize the opportunities arising from the construction of the modern capital city circle and the expansion of the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Science and Technology Innovation Center. The focus will be on deepening integration and actively attracting projects, with sustained efforts in industrial collaboration and innovation synergy.
