BANK OF CHINA Completes Issuance of Write-Down Perpetual Capital Bonds

BANK OF CHINA (03988) has announced the completion of its issuance of write-down perpetual capital bonds. The bank's shareholders' meeting held on July 18, 2025, approved a proposal to issue capital instruments not exceeding 450 billion yuan or the equivalent in foreign currency. With approval from the relevant regulatory authorities, the bank issued these write-down perpetual capital bonds on the national interbank bond market on May 13, 2026, and completed the issuance on May 15, 2026. The total issuance size for this tranche is 30 billion yuan. The bonds carry a coupon rate of 1.95% for the first five years, subject to adjustment every five years thereafter. They include an issuer call option exercisable on each interest payment date from the fifth year onwards.
