On June 13th, Xinjiang's inaugural micro-drama integrating artificial intelligence generation, live-action filming, and virtual human technology, titled "Heart of Jade," commenced filming at the World Devil City scenic area in Urho District, Karamay City.
This production leverages the unique landscapes of Urho and other locations for its live-action sequences, charting a new course for cultural tourism and cinematic expression.
Heart of Jade, a project spearheaded by the Karamay Municipal Party Committee's Publicity Department, uses the Yardang landforms and majestic Gobi desert of Urho as its natural backdrop.
It applies artificial intelligence technology across the entire production workflow, from scriptwriting and storyboard design to visual rendering and post-production.
The series features surreal, AI-generated visuals depicting the geological evolution of golden silk jade and ancient jade trade routes, which are interwoven with live-action footage.
Virtual characters created using simulation human technology add a layer of fantasy to the narrative.
Through this streamlined cinematic approach, the work aims to comprehensively showcase the scenic beauty and cultural richness of Urho, telling a vivid and fantastical story designed to resonate deeply with audiences.
The planning and filming of this drama represent a concrete initiative aligned with fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and advancing its development.
It is also a response to the National Radio and Television Administration's "Travel with Micro-Dramas" creative plan, promoting the deep integration of traditional cultural tourism themes with cutting-edge digital technologies.
The project's goal is to support Karamay City's development strategy, enhance the quality and upgrade of Urho's all-for-one tourism, and provide replicable, scalable practical experience for innovative exploration within Xinjiang's broader cultural and tourism industry.
