Iran's Foreign Ministry has issued a statement strongly denouncing US military strikes targeting an Iranian oil tanker and a communications station on Qeshm Island.
The statement asserts that on the 3rd, US forces launched attacks from two countries in the Middle East against the Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and the communications facility on Qeshm Island. These acts of aggression are said to violate not only ceasefire agreements but also constitute a serious breach of the United Nations Charter.
It condemns the US for utilizing the territory and facilities of nations in the region to carry out aggression against Iran, and it specifies that Kuwait and Bahrain bear direct and explicit responsibility for enabling these actions.
The statement declares that Iran will defend its territorial integrity and national sovereignty, employing all available capabilities to retaliate against the aggression, including striking at the sources of the attacks. It places responsibility for the situation on the United States and Israel, as well as on all parties that have assisted their aggression against Iran by providing territory and facilities.
In a related development, the Bahrain Defense Force released a statement on the 3rd, claiming its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed three missiles and multiple drones originating from Iran. The statement accused Iran of continuing hostile actions against Bahrain by targeting civilian sites within the country with missiles and drones, and noted that Bahrain's armed forces remain on high alert.
Also on the 3rd, a spokesperson for Kuwait's Ministry of Defense reported that multiple Iranian drones attacked Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport, causing significant damage to the structure and resulting in casualties.
