Muyuan Foods Group Co.,Ltd. has recently completed a significant leadership change. The company's founder, Qin Yinglin, has stepped down from his roles as chairman and president, citing that he has reached retirement age. Cao Zhinian, aged 49, has been elected as the new chairman of the board.
In addition, on the same day, the board proposed to appoint two new executive directors, Gao Tong and Qin Muyuan.
Some shareholders have expressed concerns regarding the composition of the new management team, suggesting that the company appears to be heavily influenced by family ties.
An examination of the relationships reveals that founder Qin Yinglin and board member Qian Ying are husband and wife. The newly appointed chairman, Cao Zhinian, is Qian Ying's nephew.
Public information indicates that Cao Zhinian joined Muyuan in 1998 and has worked there for nearly three decades. He holds a college diploma.
The new board member, Qin Muyuan, is the son of founder Qin Yinglin.
It is reported that Qin Muyuan was born in 1995 and has a high school education. He joined the company in 2019 and has been leading the strategy formulation and implementation for the company's slaughter and meat business. He currently serves as the CEO of Muyuan Meat Food.
Qin Muyuan's educational background has raised concerns among some shareholders. One shareholder commented online, stating that a high school diploma for someone born in the 1990s suggests poor academic performance, and this level of education among management is a source of worry for them as an investor.
Financial reports show that in 2025, Muyuan achieved operating revenue of 144.145 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.49%. However, its net profit attributable to shareholders was 15.487 billion yuan, a decrease of 13.39% compared to the previous year.
For the first quarter of 2026, the company reported revenue of 29.894 billion yuan, a decline of 17.10% year-on-year. It incurred a net loss attributable to shareholders of 1.215 billion yuan, representing a 127.05% drop from the profit in the same period last year.
