Amazon is developing an "expedited" pickup service that will allow customers to collect their orders within one hour at its physical stores, according to an internal document and sources familiar with the matter.
The new feature will enable shoppers to place "unified" orders combining purchases from Amazon’s online marketplace and brick-and-mortar stores.

The e-commerce giant plans to pilot the program in at least one major metropolitan area by early 2026, though the exact timeline may have shifted.
Amazon did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Earlier this month, Amazon announced it was testing its "Amazon Instant Delivery" service in parts of Seattle and Philadelphia, offering ultra-fast delivery of household essentials and groceries.
In August, Amazon began providing same-day delivery of perishable groceries to its Prime members, a service now available in over 1,000 U.S. cities with plans to expand to 2,300 by year-end.
