AMD CEO Predicts Sustained Growth in CPU Demand Over Coming Years

Deep News11:10

Advanced Micro Devices CEO Lisa Su stated on Friday that the central processing unit (CPU) market is expanding faster than "anyone predicted a year ago" and will continue to grow in the coming years.

Over the next five years, AMD anticipates that the CPU market will grow by more than 35% annually, "and this is an area where we are very strong," Su remarked at an event in Taipei.

"About six or twelve months ago, no one was talking about CPU shortages or tight CPU supply, but with the rise in inference demand, CPUs have become a focal point," she said.

Su mentioned that one reason for her visit to Taiwan was to ensure readiness for the significant increase in CPU demand, and she has received strong support from all supply chain partners.
