At the 9th Meituan 717 Knight Festival annual honor ceremony held in Beijing on July 16th, Meituan Core Local Commerce CEO Wang Puzhong stated in his address that delivery riders are evolving into a more dignified and professional workforce. Meituan will continue to invest in areas such as stabilizing income, enhancing rights protection, and ensuring fairness in order fulfillment. The goal is to ensure riders' efforts are respected and their livelihoods secured, working together with them to foster better development in the online delivery industry, deliver improved experiences for consumers, and contribute greater value to society.
During the event, Meituan honored 46 outstanding rider representatives from across the nation who excelled in areas like traffic rule compliance, acts of bravery, and consistent order fulfillment.
Data from Meituan reveals that in the second quarter of this year, over 220 riders received special incentives for "acts of bravery" and "good deeds," representing an increase of more than 150% year-over-year. The cumulative figure for the first half of the year exceeded 420, already surpassing the total for the entire previous year. In 2025, Meituan has upgraded its long-term incentives for "good deeds" and "acts of bravery." The maximum single reward amount can now reach 100,000 yuan. Riders can file for exemption from penalties for abnormal orders caused by acts of bravery, and the platform provides full-process legal support. Additionally, commendation ceremonies are held quarterly to recognize and reward riders' virtuous actions.
