On the morning of January 21st at 10 a.m., the State Council Information Office held a press conference where Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Zhang Yunming introduced the development achievements of industry and information technology for 2025 and outlined the next steps for deployment.
He stated that recently, the ministry, in conjunction with seven other departments, issued the "Implementation Opinions on the Special Action for 'AI + Manufacturing'," accompanied by industry transformation guidelines and enterprise application guides. The next step will involve using the implementation of these opinions as a lever to accelerate the high-quality development of the artificial intelligence industry. Efforts will focus on technological innovation, speeding up breakthroughs in key technologies such as training chips and heterogeneous computing power. Attention will also be given to integrated applications, concentrating on sectors like software programming, new materials R&D, pharmaceutical research, and information communications to systematically drive breakthroughs in both large and small models, as well as intelligent agents. The cultivation of enterprises will be prioritized to stimulate the emergence of more enabling application service providers. Ecosystem development will be advanced by accelerating the formulation of urgently needed industry standards and improving the open-source mechanism for AI. Finally, security governance will be strengthened, with a focus on enhancing algorithm security protection, training data safeguarding, and other critical applications to boost corporate capabilities in managing ethical risks.
