Deep News10-04

The National Day holiday saw Yangzhou's consumer market bursting with vitality, with major commercial districts swarming with visitors as locals and tourists embraced holiday spending. Among the most popular choices for consumers were digital electronics shopping and movie entertainment.

At the MixC in Shuangqiao Subdistrict, Hanjiang District, reporters observed a steady stream of residents arriving to experience and purchase electronic products. Smartphones, laptops, tablets, and smart wearable devices drew interest from consumers across different age groups. A staff member at a digital electronics store explained, "During the National Day period, students make up a relatively high proportion of in-store visitors. Many come to buy computers, and demand for tablet products is also very strong. Overall sales performance has been quite good." Tourist Ji Xuzhen from Inner Mongolia told reporters she took advantage of the holiday to visit a physical store and learn about computer products firsthand, planning to make a purchase if the price was right.

Nowadays, "shopping at the mall plus watching a movie" has become a standard leisure routine for many consumers during holidays. Entering the cinema, reporters saw various screening halls showing National Day holiday films in rotation. Hu Xiaoyi, operations manager of Yangzhou MixC Cinema, introduced that this National Day holiday season featured 11 films, covering detective themes like "Traces of the Detective," comedy titles like "What Do You Mean, Couple," and animated films such as "Peppa Pig: Perfect Holiday." The cinema opens daily at 9 a.m., with films screened on a continuous loop until the early hours of the morning. Local resident Liang Tianyu said, "During the National Day holiday, outdoor areas are crowded with people, so I chose to watch a movie to relax and unwind." Tourist Ma Danling, who traveled from Harbin, said that since it happened to be raining, she chose to step into the cinema to watch the film "Rebirth 2."

The dining sector has always been the "traffic driver" of holiday consumption. At lunchtime, long queues formed in front of many restaurants, with a constant flow of customers keeping the lively atmosphere alive. A restaurant manager told reporters that the store began seeing queuing diners from the evening of September 30, and the queues have continued ever since, with the bustling business expected to last throughout the entire National Day holiday. Local resident Zhou Zihan said, "I took advantage of the holiday to stroll around the mall and try some food." Resident Ding Jie told reporters that her favorite restaurant is usually hard to get a table at, so she deliberately arrived early today and only had to wait briefly before being seated.

This holiday, major commercial complexes such as Yangzhou MixC relied on diverse business formats and rich activities to draw crowds, with foot traffic remaining at high levels. Commercial districts will continue to enrich consumer offerings, create more immersive consumption scenarios, and further unleash the city's consumer vitality. Source: Yangzhou Release APP
