Following the introduction of automatic QDII quota alerts, several fund distribution platforms have recently rolled out new features for QDII fund sales.
Sources have learned that Licaitong, WeBank, JD Finance, Danjuan, Du Xiaoman and other third-party platforms have launched one-click purchase and one-click regular investment features for Nasdaq and other QDII products, in response to investor subscription demand amid tight QDII quotas.
The密集 launch of these features coincides with a notable pullback in the Nasdaq index over the past month.
Since October, the Nasdaq has retreated nearly 10% from its high, QDII fund net asset values have declined in tandem, cross-border ETFs have seen net redemptions, and market volatility has objectively provided a window for staggered regular investment.
"One-Click Bundling" Becomes a New Selling Point for QDII Investment
Multiple platforms have launched similar features.
Where there is demand, there is supply. Unlike the past approach of "investing slowly in one fund at a time," many platforms now market "bundled QDII fund subscriptions" as a new selling point, allowing one-click regular investment in dozens of funds at once. This round of feature iteration among distribution platforms has sparked another competitive battle.
Currently, Tencent Licaitong, WeBank, Danjuan, Du Xiaoman, and JD Finance have successively launched "one-click regular investment" and "one-click purchase" features for QDII funds.
Specifically, Tencent Licaitong offers a feature that allows bundled regular investment in 37 Nasdaq funds at once. Leveraging the WeChat ecosystem, Licaitong has placed the entry point within its mini-program. Its "Quota Treasure" previously provided quota alerts, sending real-time notifications within WeChat when quotas are released. The newly launched "batch regular investment in Nasdaq" goes further: investors can select 37 funds tracking the Nasdaq 100 index at once and set regular investment amounts for each fund individually. Currently, it supports regular investment in both the Nasdaq and S&P 500 indices.
According to Tencent Licaitong, as of November 4, the 37 funds combined allow approximately 117.5 yuan in daily investment. Based on 20 trading days per month, the monthly purchase amount is less than 3,000 yuan. Meanwhile, users can first set an acceptable upper limit for regular investment amounts. When a particular fund's quota opens up, the system will automatically allocate investment products and amounts within that limit, so users do not need to repeatedly modify their plans. In terms of benefits, during the promotional period, regular investment can waive up to 388 yuan in annual subscription fees, and successful regular investments earn points that can be redeemed for WeChat payment vouchers.
WeBank's "Regular Investment in Nasdaq" section also supports "one investment across multiple funds, one password verification, and one plan for multiple funds." Compared to Licaitong, this section covers a richer variety of categories, including not only Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 indices but also Nasdaq Technology, Nasdaq Biotechnology and other directions. It supports one-click batch selection, with the system automatically allocating subscription amounts based on each fund's daily available quota. In terms of regular investment experience, this section includes fewer products than Licaitong and does not support order cancellation.
Danjuan launched this feature earlier, and its operating experience is similar to WeBank, also supporting one investment across multiple funds and one password verification. Its differentiated highlight is "deduction by indicator" — in addition to deducting in descending order of return rate, it also supports sorting by tracking accuracy, subscription fees, subscription timing and other dimensions, making it easier for investors to choose among different products.
Additionally, Du Xiaoman has also launched a "one investment across multiple funds, one password verification" feature. Users need to log into a Baidu account before use. JD Finance has introduced a "one-click purchase of multiple funds" feature, supporting one purchase across multiple funds and one password verification, allowing one-click purchase of actively managed equity funds. However, this feature currently does not support one-click bundling of Nasdaq, S&P 500 and other QDII index funds, differing from the bundled QDII regular investment scenarios of the aforementioned platforms.
Industry observers note that the introduction of features like batch regular investment in QDII funds is directly related to the total constraint on QDII foreign exchange quotas. QDII funds invest in overseas assets and need to use the foreign exchange investment quota approved for fund companies. The total quota is limited, while investor demand for global allocation continues to rise. The daily subscription limit for a single Nasdaq fund ranges from a few hundred yuan to just over ten yuan, with some products allowing only 10 or 20 yuan.
"To invest the target amount according to a set plan, investors need to split their capital across multiple funds, and manually operating each one is cumbersome. Against this backdrop, multiple platforms have successively launched these features to lower the operational threshold," said a person from a third-party distribution platform.
Nasdaq QDII Sees Notable Pullback, Regular Investment Window Opens
While third-party distribution platforms upgrade their features, QDII fund net asset values have suffered drawdowns over the past month.
Since October 7, the Nasdaq has experienced a significant correction. In the last week of October, tech giants including Intel, Amazon and Alphabet密集 released earnings reports, and market expectations diverged on AI capital expenditure and profit realization. Intel's stock fell by the most in over 40 years in a single day, and Alphabet also suffered one of its largest single-day drops since going public. Entering November, the adjustment continued. As of November 2, the Nasdaq had fallen more than 8% cumulatively from its high set on October 6 — the third notable pullback for the index this year.
Under the US stock market correction, QDII funds have declined significantly. Among 285 QDII funds, 224 posted negative returns over the past month. US stocks were the hardest hit area for net asset value declines, with over 50 QDII funds including Huaxia Global Technology Pioneer, Huaxia Greater China Enterprise Select, Tianhong Global High-End Manufacturing, and E Fund Global Healthcare falling more than 15% over the past month.
Cross-border ETF subscriptions and redemptions also cooled, especially in the last week of October when cross-border ETFs saw a rare net outflow exceeding 4 billion yuan.
Generally speaking, regular investment can acquire more shares at lower prices when the market declines, thereby averaging down the overall holding cost. When market volatility is high, this mechanism's effect of accumulating low-cost shares is relatively pronounced. Therefore, from the perspective of distribution platforms, this round of Nasdaq QDII pullback can serve as a point for staggered positioning.
Some fund company personnel also caution that QDII funds face the dual impact of overseas market volatility and exchange rate fluctuations, and subscription/redemption cycles are typically longer. Against the backdrop of limited quotas and purchase restrictions on individual funds, regular investment plans may also be interrupted due to tight quotas. For ordinary investors, participating with spare money, controlling position size, and appropriately lowering return expectations is more pragmatic than agonizing over short-term timing.
How Will US Tech Stocks Play Out? Fund Companies Recommend Watching Three Main Lines
The source of QDII fund volatility lies in technology.
Morgan Stanley Fund believes that overseas AI negative news is the main reason for the US stock decline. Leading companies' revenue guidance diverged and free cash flow deteriorated, triggering dual doubts about earnings and credit. Investment bank target prices and earnings outlooks were broadly revised down, and computing power rental prices fell more than 70% from their peak. On the financing side, conditions tightened simultaneously — AI-related bond issuance surged while credit spreads widened, and the market repriced the sustainability of the boom narrative.
Bosera Fund summarized the performance of US stocks in the last week of October as "repair first, then valuation kill": initially, driven by the start of tech earnings week, risk appetite recovery, and the Federal Reserve's pause on rate hikes at its October meeting, the index rebounded. Subsequently, earnings from Alphabet, Amazon, Intel and others showed high AI capital expenditure, pressure on free cash flow, and profit realization falling short of high expectations. Combined with US third-quarter GDP at 3.4%, September core PCE at 3.1% year-on-year, and initial jobless claims at 194,000 — reflecting "relatively strong growth plus sticky inflation" — expectations for a December rate hike intensified, and the market重新 traded the dual suppression of high rates and high capital expenditure.
Overall, this round of adjustment is related to the pace of AI sector profit realization: after significant stock price gains earlier, the market has raised higher requirements for tech giants' capital expenditure returns and cash flow performance.
Looking ahead, Golden Eagle Fund advises investors to focus on the following three main lines: First, November employment and inflation data. October non-farm payrolls and CPI data will be released on November 6 and November 10 respectively. There is no FOMC meeting in November, and the market will revise December policy expectations through data and officials' statements, with focus on the impact of employment resilience, services inflation and energy prices on rate hike expectations and US Treasury yields. Second, the conclusion of US midterm elections. Attention should be paid to the impact of changes in congressional seats on subsequent fiscal, tax and industrial policies, as well as statements before and after the election regarding trade with China and technology restrictions. Combined with the dollar, US Treasuries and the RMB exchange rate, investors should assess the transmission to foreign risk appetite, export chains and technology industry chains. Third, earnings from AI computing power leaders. On November 17 (November 18 Beijing time), the global AI computing power leader will release its latest quarterly report. Focus on data center revenue, delivery pace, gross margin and business guidance, and judge demand sustainability in light of cloud providers' capital expenditure, AI revenue and cash flow.
Bosera Fund also noted that subsequent market pricing will likely revolve around three threads: AI cash flow realization, December rate hike expectations, and whether the technology style will spread to defensive and cash flow sectors.
