Fuel Price Adjustment Announcement – Market Update

Deep News08-11 20:31

The adjustment window for fuel prices is set to open at 24:00 on August 14, leaving just three days from the current date of August 11. The current pricing cycle for refined oil products began on August 3, spanning a total of 10 working days for evaluation. As of August 11, seven of these working days have been completed, with three remaining statistical days.

At the start of the cycle, expectations for a price reduction were steadily increasing, with the estimated decrease climbing higher. However, recent significant rebounds in international crude oil prices have caused the projected reduction to narrow. Currently, estimates suggest a decrease of 345 yuan per tonne for gasoline and 335 yuan per tonne for diesel. This translates to a drop of 0.28 yuan per litre for 92-octane gasoline and 0.29 yuan per litre for both 95-octane gasoline and 0# diesel.

If international oil prices continue to hold at elevated levels, the anticipated reduction may shrink further. It is important to note that with several statistical days remaining in the calculation period, uncertainties persist, and the final adjustment will be confirmed by the official announcement from the National Development and Reform Commission.
