Among these are logistics, software, digital payments and life sciences, areas of the economy that are experiencing outsize growth.\n“The pivot into good neighborhoods has really paid off,” Mr. Gray said in an interview.\nBlackstone’s distributable earnings, or the amount of cash that could be returned to shareholders, came in at $1.07 billion, or 82 cents a share, in the quarter. That compares with $548 million, or 43 cents a share, a year earlier.\nThe firm said it would pay a dividend of 70 cents a share for the quarter, versus 37 cents in the second quarter of 2020.\nBlackstone invested $23.8 billion during the second quarter and committed to an additional $28.5 billion, another record.
