What is the Guangxi Mass Reading Benefit Card? It is a cultural benefit initiative organized by the Propaganda Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of the Communist Party of China. Since 2019, the program has been funded by government subsidies and made available to the general public, offering tangible benefits to a wide range of readers.
What benefits does the card provide? In 2026, a total of 160,000 cards will be issued, each with a face value of 100 yuan. Readers can purchase the cards at a 50% discount.
How and where can the cards be bought and used? The cards will be sold through both online platforms and physical stores, including outlets of Xinhua Bookstore, branches of Lijiang Bookstore, Duxiu Study rooms, Nanning Book City, Zhinan Book City, Taozhi Bookstore, Guilin Daofeng Bookstore, Guangxi Fuhua Bookstore, and Guigang Hanlin Bookyard. After purchasing a card, readers can use it for in-store purchases.
What happens if the card is not used before the expiration date? Any unused card will automatically become invalid after the expiry date, and the original purchase amount will be refunded through the original payment method.
Additional surprises and gifts will be available for those who purchase the cards at the cultural fair during the Bagui Book Week, held from April 23 to 29 at Nanning Book City Xinhua Mall and Nanning Xinhua Bookstore Store No. 23.
