In Silver City, food delivery riders report potential safety hazards through photos, couriers assist communities with policy promotion, and ride-hailing drivers actively participate in civilized city campaigns and discourage uncivilized behavior. These gig economy workers have become "mobile monitors" and "roving sentinels," playing a vital role in frontline governance. Since last year, Silver City has strengthened Party leadership, optimized support services, and created participation platforms to deeply integrate Party building with the management of new employment groups, providing strong support for their involvement in community governance. The city has established a comprehensive online and offline service network to ensure warm, accessible support. Offline, 551 "friendly spaces" such as welcoming communities and hospitals have been set up, along with 55 regional Party-mass service centers and "red stations" catering to delivery workers and truck drivers, offering services like emergency charging, rest areas, meals, and policy consultations over 1,300 times. Online, digital platforms provide policy information, road condition updates, and channels for feedback, while a dedicated transport service hotline and a rapid response mechanism have efficiently addressed 116 concerns from drivers. Additionally, a four-tier appeal handling system connects individuals with Party committees, pairing 520 Party members with gig workers to resolve 122 urgent issues, including rights protection, license processing, and children’s schooling. Labor rights protection initiatives have handled 10 wage dispute cases and mediated 5 labor arbitration disputes. Through care packages and holiday visits, the city continues to enhance workers' sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security. To date, 530 couriers, delivery riders, and truck drivers have registered as "part-time grid managers," routinely conducting safety inspections, supporting city campaigns, and promoting policies. They have submitted 1,128 reports on hazards and community issues, becoming key contributors to a collaborative governance model.
