CHK Oil Issues Update on Executive Director Termination; Faces HK$4.22 Million Tribunal Claim

Bulletin Express09-24

CHK Oil Limited disclosed an update concerning the ongoing dispute with former executive director Ms. Wong, who was dismissed earlier this year. According to the announcement dated 24 September 2026, Ms. Wong filed a claim with Hong Kong’s Labour Tribunal on 18 September 2026, seeking approximately HK$4.22 million in alleged outstanding remuneration related to her employment and subsequent termination.

The company reiterated its position that the claimed amount is without merit. Management has attempted to reach an amicable settlement but reported receiving no response from Ms. Wong to date. CHK Oil confirmed it will continue to pursue legal advice and monitor the proceedings.

The board currently consists of four executive directors—Mr. Yu Zhibo (Chairman), Mr. Jin Ailong, Mr. Wong Chung Kin Quentin, and Mr. Lam Pui Wang—one non-executive director, Mr. Zheng Ye, and three independent non-executive directors, Ms. Zhong Bifeng, Ms. Huang Qingwei, and Mr. Chen Yawei.

This update follows earlier disclosures made on 27 July, 10 August, and 14 September 2026 regarding the same matter. CHK Oil emphasized its intent to protect corporate interests while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements throughout the dispute resolution process.
