Agricultural Bank of China President Wang Zhiheng Meets with Chairman of Uzbekistan's Agrobank

On January 16, Wang Zhiheng, President of Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), met with a delegation led by Mr. Kahorov, Chairman of Agrobank of Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan Agrobank).

Wang Zhiheng stated that in recent years, under the guidance of the two countries' heads of state, China-Uzbekistan relations have been elevated to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era, with practical cooperation across various fields showing a positive trend. Agricultural Bank of China actively implements the important consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, continuously promotes financial cooperation with Uzbekistan, supports enterprises in investing and developing there, and uses financial collaboration to empower economic, trade, and investment exchanges between China and Uzbekistan. As leading providers of agricultural financial services in their respective countries, ABC and Uzbekistan Agrobank look forward to further deepening experience exchange and multi-faceted cooperation. The aim is to jointly enhance agricultural financial service capabilities and contribute greater financial strength to deeply aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with Uzbekistan's "New Uzbekistan" development strategy, thereby creating a complementary and win-win cooperation framework between China and Uzbekistan. Kahorov highly commended Agricultural Bank of China's experience and practices in the agricultural finance sector. He noted that as Uzbekistan's state-owned bank with the largest branch network, the second-largest asset base, and the strongest support for agricultural finance, Uzbekistan Agrobank hopes to strengthen experience sharing and talent development in agricultural finance with ABC. He expressed a desire to expand cooperation in areas such as cross-border financing and credit, as well as local currency settlement and clearing, to inject more financial momentum into economic, trade exchanges, and agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and China. The meeting was attended by the Director of ABC's Agriculture, Rural Areas, and Farmers Business Department, as well as heads of the Strategic Planning Department, Inclusive Finance Department, Corporate Business Department for Agriculture, Rural Areas, and Farmers, Farmer Finance Department, Rural Revitalization Finance Department, and International Finance Department.
